Design is about proportion, balance and harmony. Design is timeless: it doesn’t go out of fashion. Above all, design is a reflection of who you are.
Whether remodels or new construction, our involvement begins with floor plans and a collaborative vision of the finished product, and concludes with the furnishings. Because interior design is a continuously evolving process, we team with the client, the architect, the builder usually well before construction begins.
Once we move on to the furnishing phase, we work with another level of professionals: furniture makers, fabric companies, ironworkers, drapery workrooms, upholsterers, et al. Our involvement is complete immersion, beginning to end.
Finally, design is also about place and time—not only about who you are, but where you are. We are fortunate living in New Mexico, a region with a rich history of architecture and furniture design that traces back centuries to the old world. We also have a wealth of superb artists, craftspeople and businesses who grew up in our indigenous design traditions. Annie O’Carroll knows and works with the best of the best.
Some of our projects include: The New Mexico Governor’s Mansion, Las Campanas spa and new children’s wing, Santa Fe Hilton Hotel (remodel), Las Campanas Club Casitas and many residential projects in Santa Fe, NM, and San Francisco and San Jose, CA. We welcome and have the capabilities to take on comprehensive projects like these, but we also enjoy furnishing a single bedroom or designing a kitchen remodel.

Annie O’Carroll, owner and principal, has been practicing interior design in Santa Fe since 1991. Before moving to New Mexico, Annie enjoyed a career with Marriott Hotels in International Travel sales. Traveling awakened in her a love of design in architecture and interiors.
Annie left the hotel field to study design and earn a degree from the Design Institute in Newport Beach, California.
Annie believes the best design is the product of collaborating with client, architect and builder. Her most striking projects have involved her from the inception of a project to placing the final painting–always with an eye to the finished project. It is the job of a great design team to express a client’s vision and desires with beauty and creativity and to aim beyond the client’s expectations.
Cara Scarola is an interior designer working with Annie O’Carroll. Since completing a Masters degree in Interior Architecture at the University of Oregon, Cara has worked on a variety of projects that range from new custom homes to residential and commercial remodels. Cara also holds a Bachelors degree in fine art from Lewis and Clark College.
Her formal education and professional experience give her a detailed understanding of all aspects of the design process from preliminary design and construction documents to finish and furniture selections. Her creative endeavors also include photography, painting, travel, and nature. Cara is particularly interested in environmental sustainability as it relates to interior design. She is currently working towards L.E.E.D. certification.
