About
Annie found a passion for design through travel. A love of beauty; in nature, art, architecture and fashion brought together a focus which evolved into the profession of Interior design.
Annie left the hotel industry where she traveled extensively through Europe and Asia to study Interior design and earn a degree from the Design Institute in Newport Beach, California.
To be truly beautiful, Annie O’Carroll Interior Design believes that a space must reflect proportion, balance and harmony. Good design is timeless; it doesn’t go out of style and it must be both luxurious and comfortable. Above all, design is a reflection of personality, and – like fashion – it must “fit”.
Whether remodels or new construction, our involvement begins with floor plans and a collaborative vision of the finished product, and concludes with the furnishings. Because interior design is a continuously evolving process, we team with the client, the architect, and the builder – typically well before construction begins.
Once we move to the furnishing phase, we work with another level of professional: furniture makers, fabric companies, ironworkers, drapery workrooms, upholsterers, etc. We fully immerse ourselves in every project – from beginning to end.
Finally, design should evoke a sense of place – it’s not only about who you are, but where you are. We are fortunate to live in New Mexico, a state with a rich history of iconic architecture and unique furniture design that traces back centuries to the Old World. We have a wealth of superb artists and craftspeople that were raised among our indigenous design traditions, and the Annie O’Carroll design team works with the best of these talents.
Some of our projects include: The New Mexico Governor’s Mansion, Las Campanas Spa and it’s new family-friendly wing, Santa Fe’s Hilton Hotel, and Las Campanas Club Casitas. These are joined by our many residential projects in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and San Francisco and San Jose, in California. We have the capabilities to successfully execute projects such as these, although we also enjoy the fun of furnishing a single room or the challenge of redesigning a kitchen.
Regardless of scope, we appreciate your interest and we welcome the opportunity to work with you as you bring your design dreams to life.
